Letter to PT50 for Broker of the Year

LETTER SENT TO PT50 FOR CONSIDERATION OF BROKER OF THE YEAR

I would like to nominate JR Troy of ERA Troy, Realtors for “Broker of the Year.” I don’t feel there is one award out there that encompasses all of his achievements, qualities, genuine goodness and success but each lets him know how valuable he is to every person that has ever worked with or met him.

Let’s see . . . After High School and College

JR served 4 years in the US Air Force as a member of the Security Police. He received an honorable discharge in 1982. (and the good conduct medal)

He has been a licensed Realtor for 26 years and a Broker for the past 18 years.

1987 (As an agent) JR was awarded as the Top Volume Producer within the ERA System in San Antonio. (there were 13 offices at the time)

ERA Troy has been in the Top 200 ERA’s in the nation every year since 1993 and the Top 100 every year since 2001 under his leadership.

He was named “Manager of the Year” in 2002 by PT50

He has been and continues to be “Broker Counsel President” for Central Texas ERA Offices since 1998. They keep reelecting him! 11 years is a sign of an incredible leader.

He has served on SABOR committees to include the Grievance Committee and the MLS Committee.

He has taught at the Alamo Institute of Real Estate.

He is a member of the NMBN (National Military Brokers Network) and ERC (ERA Relocation Certification)

ERA Troy was named as one of 5 finalists (in the nation) for the Jim Jackson Memorial for Customer Satisfaction.

He is a member and attends St. Marks regularly.

He is a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is a member of SAPHC who raise money for many local charities.

ERA Troy raises money yearly for MDA and were recognized in 2007 “President’s Club Award” for outstanding fund raising.

He sponsors travel to Akuna Mexico prior to Christmas for the past several years to bring Cloths and School Supplies to the orphans.

He has coached Baseball for CYO.

He hires and trains all incoming ERA agents himself and is available in the office every single day-visible and with his door open. If it happens to be after hours, I would describe him to be as accessible as a 911 operator. I have been with JR and company since starting in 2003 and have yet to have to leave a message. When asked, I have said that working him is like working for my father (though he’s not quite old enough) in that I can reach him anytime anywhere for any reason and will always come away with the right answer, calmed down, a bit smarter and a lot more confident. I certainly would not have been a Platinum Top 50 Finalist for Rookie of the Year after 7 months in the business without his guidance.

He has been a single parent to 5 sons since 1995.
